Question

I am trying to use the youtube widget, but it is not functioning.

When I add the youtube widget to a slide, I can add the url and test the link, which works fine, but when I preview the slide, the youtube video does not show up anywhere on the slide. What might I be doing wrong, or is there a known glitch in the youtube widget?

Do you get an error of any kind in the project or in the embedded YouTube window? I'm able to preview using HTML5 in Browser (F11) but the YouTube errors out if I try just the Browser (F12). Also selecting Preview From This Slide doesn't work, nor Project, nor...

Basically, F11 (HTML5 in Browser) is probably going to be your best bet to preview that widget since it is reliant on HTML5 to render it.

I don't get any error. When I'm in the filmstrip view, I can see the

widget. I can use the F11 to see the video. But, when I go to preview the

slide, I cannot see anything other than the empty slide.

I was watching the Lynda.com presentation on Captivate 8 and the presenter

has youtube show up in the preview. That simply isn't happening when I

    attempt something similar.

    Hi Jeff,

Are you able to see the widget in your published output? Learning interactions work best when viewed on a web server or using F11 preview in HTML5. The "Preview" project will not preview from a web server.

    Thanks,

I should add that I'm using Captivate 9.

I would also check to make sure the "Eye" icon isn't checked on the widget under the properties tab. When checked it will not show up when previewing.
