I can't delete an object from my slides

Hello.

I created an object (I thought it was going to be a click box) on my project and now I can't get rid of it? It almost seems like it is a part of the background....

I cannot click on it and make it advance to the next screen.

I can't right click and get the menu option to delete.

If I double click on it, it brings up the slide properties page.

How do I get rid of it? Or hide it? Any suggestions??
