Question

I can view PDF's in PRO/Reader X---but not in PRO/Reader XI

Hi Gang,  I'm working with CP5.5---when I export to PDF I have some people tell me that they can not view my PDF, yet others say it works fine.  Doing a little troubleshooting, I discovered the the ones who could view the PDF were using Adobe Acrobat X, but those who had upgraded to XI could not.  any thoughts?

Hi there,

Can you check the security settings of the Adobe Reader XI.

Please launch Adobe Reader and click on edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) > then Protected mode should be off and enable enhanced security should be unchecked.

then click on OK, close Reader and open your Course PDF.

Thanks.

Hi Varun,  My settings were as you discribe.  I did what you suggested, but no change.  I still get essentially, a black screen.

Hi

Try with the separate Flash Player for Acrobat XI. Here is the link:

This didn't do anything for me.  TY for the suggestion though.

That is the same discovery I have made. It has to do with the TOC. Here is what I got back from Adobe Engineers:

"The issue here is “Acrobat X1 doesn’t show Captivate generated SWF content with TOC ON”. This is already reported. We are working with Acrobat team to resolve this. The issue is specific to Acrobat X1. Workaround is : Use Acrobat/Reader X."

Hi Anita,  I'll try turning off the TOC and see where that gets me. - TY
