Hi

I am using Captivate 2019 and have an assessment using software simulation for Win 11 skills like deleting files. I want to have a “I don’t know” button that will report the current question as incorrect in the LMS and jump to the next question. I made the button as a smart shape with the action as jump to next slide but in the LMS it doesn’t  show any answer and will break the LMS reporting as questions are reported out of order.

I have posted a screenshot. Software simulation. Question is open Google Chrome. Click boxes on the Chrome icon action is go to next slide (next question) with Quiz reporting turned on. I’d like the “I don’t know” button to give an incorrect answer and go to the next question (currently action set to go to next slide). Infinite attempts.

    Here is what I did:

The click box paused the slide and is included in the quiz. Kept it at infinite attempts and goes to the next slide upon double-click (using your screen shot as an example).

The “IDK” button did NOT pause the slide and was not recorded in the quiz. It is set to go to the next slide.

I put a quiz results slide at the end to see the results. Completion and Success criteria both are set to 100% slide views.

    My test file is attached.

Are you using actual question slides? How are you determining what’s correct?

It is a software simulation slide. Questions are like - Open Google Chrome. I have a click box on the Chrome icon in the task bar which is reported in the quiz to the LMS.

So, typically, the user watches the process, then performs the action. That usually uses click boxes to determine where the user is supposed to click. The pass and fail actions can be set for those.

Is that how you are doing it?
