I paid for the subscription version and I can't find the download icon. Every time I click the link, it takes me back to the free-trial page. I am trying to download Captivate 11.8 on MacOS,

1. I go to my account

2. Click on all apps

3. Try searching

4. Go back to site, rinse & repeat

Correct answer kglad

captivate isn't included in a cc all apps subscription.

Captivate is not the only application which is not included in the Creative Cloud. Some other examples are Framemaker, RoboHelp, Adobe Learning Manager. You need a separate subscription license for them. Framemaker, RoboHelp and Captivate are also available in the Technical Communication Suite license.

even more annoyingly, if you have CC apps AND Captivate under the same AdobeID, you have to log in and out to move back and forth using the apps. What kind of insanity is this?

AFAIK that is only the case if the type of license is different: individual and team license. I have an individual license for both CC and Captivate, and never have to log in/out when switching. Did you try to contact Adobe, they may be able to fix it.
