I have a user that when they try to publish a project in Captivate it keeps crashing. Then the next day it will work or they can publish a different project. I've tried uninstalling and reinstall Captivate on their VM, which is running Windows 10. It might fix the issue but then comeback the next day with a different project. I've tired to have them rename the project a different name and it still crashes. Tried to clear captivate cache and that doesn't work. Tried to reboot the vm and clear the cache with no luck. Tried to redownload the project or try a different project but it still won't publish. Had them make a test project to see if maybe it was the projects they have to download and the test one they made would publish. The version of Captivate they are using is 11.5.5.553. We've also tried changeing Windows page files size to see if that would work by increasing the ram size but no luck there either. When Captivate crashes it doesn't give an error message either so no clue what could be causing this issue. Any help would be appericated.

My guess would be that this issue is due to the VM.  Captivate is not normally installed this way.  Is there a reason why a VM is necessary?

Its what we are moving some users to. We have other users using Capitvate and VM together with no issues. We only have two users with this issue at all. We don't think its that because we figured we see it with all users using Capitvate on the VM. Along with we tesetd it before we decided to move users to VM and it worked fine. Not sure why some days it can publish a project and other days it can't. One thing I did test was have the user make just a one slide project in Captivate and it published fine. Would it be possible that the size or something in the project causing it to fail to publish?

It is rarely the size which matters. Why do you not contact Adobe? CaptivateHelp@adobe.com

It has been a while since I used Captivate in a VM. However version 11.5.5.553 is one of the most stable versions in recent years.  You mention clearing the cache, but did you ever clean the Preferences? Do the user runs Captivate with 'Run as Administrator' feature?

Yes we tried clearing preferences and also tried to have the user run it as an admin. Same issue where the project would get to a certian % and then crash.

As I told before, I only used a VM when I needed to install a beta version to avoid conflicts with another Captivate version. I didn't really have issues, but it has been a couple of years ago and the situation may have changed.
