Question

I have problems installing Captivate 8.0: the installer doesn't start up.

I am working with an educational license (NL version) on a Mac (10.11.2 El Capitan). Hardware requirements no problem.

Download is complete, install screen is visible, installer starts up initializing, but doesn't get any further.
The Adobe Application Manager seems to be active.
Any suggestions please?

I'd say the problem is using the current Mac OS (El Capitan). It currently doesn't work with Cap 9...I doubt it's going to work with Cap 8, unfortunately.

I have Captivate 8 installed on my iMac without any problems, but I need it most of the time on my MacBook. Adobe Support advised me to deinstall Adobe CC and instal Cap 8 first of all, but that doesn't work out either.

Deinstallation is a crime as well. I guess it's another problem, that I have to figure out. I'll let you know when I get some steps ahead...

That MAY be a problem due to Mac El Capitan and OLD programs

This information is a MUST DO to install old programs on Mac El Capitan

-you may not get the same error message, but these two links will help with old programs

Install CS5 on Mac 10.11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003455 may help (also for other than CS5)
