I"m a beginner - is Captivate a LMS?

If someone uses Captivate - do they still need a LMS to host the end product for users access?

Adobe Captivate is not, itself an LMS, nor does it require an LMS. You could simply publish to a web server and allow people to access the content.

Although, depending on what your goals are for the content, you may need to have an LMS in order to meet those goals.

Captivate Prime, on the other hand, is one of many LMS solutions out there.

They are two separate applications.
