Icon appears in mobile output

Hi,

On the attached the blue icon appears on mobile output only.  I'm playing around with custom fonts so our corporate fonts can be seen on mobile devices.

Ive got this working (sort of) but this arrow appears next to the font - pressing it just magnifies the screen as you can see.

I've had to edit the 'CPLibraryAll.css' file to add 'cp-actualText span{font-family:EENobblee-Light;' to get the custom font to display, but it now displays with the attached arrow - any ideas?!

Thanks,

Chris.

The button you are seeing at the bottom of your text container (smart shape or text caption) is by design in Adobe Captivate 2017. It appears when a text container contains more text than can be accommodated by your minimum font size and the size of the text container. For example, when displaying large paragraphs of text on a smartphone display. Tapping the button will display an overlay with all the text in a scrollable format if necessary. Once your end users finish reading all the text, tapping the screen again will return your users to the full slide.

Sometimes it seems as if the button is appearing for no reason. There are a few possibilities as to why this happens.

    • Your text container is right on the threshold of when the button will be determined to be necessary. In these cases, slightly increasing the size of the text container may solve your problem. Alternatively, you could also select a smaller minimum font size on your fluid box properties.
    • Another item to consider is the margins set for your text container. Decreasing the margins will allow more space for your text and perhaps just enough to accommodate the smaller device screens needed.
    • Lastly, consider where the text has been. If you copied and pasted this text from a word processor, it may contain unnecessary formatting codes or extra line breaks that could be causing the popout button to appear.

Great - thanks Paul - day one with Cap 2017 so that's good to know.

This is CP2017, responsive project, Fluid Boxes work flow?

Apologies - I should have added that!

Yes, it's Cap2017, just upgraded today so thought I'd try custom fonts as it's a big barrier to my organisation adopting Captivate as most of our training is done on tablets.

So it's just a text box in a responsive project, with the slide pausing on entry.

Contrary to previous versions, the minimum font size for a responsive project, Fluid boxes work flow, is 14p (used to be 10p inCP8/9).

It is strange that you get that overflow icon because all text seems to be visible, shouldn't appear (yet). Someone else reported the same problem earlier this week. If my memory is correct, the probable cause was an upgraded theme or template. Is that the case for you?
