Image button cropping off right and bottom edge of image

For buttons in a quiz I've used a Image Button to replace the default button. I've imported my own .png file. It looks fine in the development environment but when I publish a .swf and view it, the image is missing it's right and bottom edge.

I've gotten around the problem by recreating the image file with 1 pixel of extra transparent canvas all the way around. This extra transparent pixel might be cut off as well but you can tell because it's transparent.

Why is Captivate cutting off the right and bottom edge of my image? What can I do to prevent this? I remember the same problem with Flash several years ago.

I encountered this issue today using Captivate 8. Apparently still a defect.

Anyone know if it's resolved in Captivate 9?

I'm using Captivate 2017 and no, it's still not fixed.

Please, this thread is from 2010. Are you talking about image buttons or about shape buttons filled with an image? I never use those old type of image buttons anymore since CP6 which is more than 5 years.

It appears this is still not fixed as of Captivate 7 as I just ran into the same problem. I must say though that it does work properly when published as HTML5, that's good news! Just have to fix the Flash version.

New that a problem exists in Flash but not HTML5 given this being newer technology. I suppose I'll be resizing the image with 1px transparent extra on bottom and right.

Also, is it just a .png issue? I'm using a PNG image also but am curious if it happens with JPG or GIF also. Anybody tested it out?

It didn't seem to matter what the image format was - GIF, PNG etc.

Even the default buttons supplied in captivate did the same thing.

I ended up giving all the interface elements an extra transparent pixel all the way round (I was using GIFs), although I suppose extra on the right and bottom would have sufficed.

I'm sure this can't be a universal issue, but I don't know what makes my (and your) installation different from the rest!

I just added a one pixel buffer on right edge and left and it fit perfectly. Only reason I wanted only on one side is because I had other elements in the place where these needed to go and I knew the x,y value. Otherwise it would have been out of alignment.

It's wierd that something like that would only be specific to certain users, maybe others just don't notice or the type of button they are making doesn't allow them to notice? Anybody tried it and absolutely not have this problem?

Buttons work great in HTML5 though.
