Question

Import a clean MP3 file, but can hear clicks when used in Captivate

Hi there,

I am having a problem with Captivate and wondered if anyone could offer some advice. I have done some audio recordings and import them into Captivate. However, when I listen to the files from Captivate, the audio quality is much worse with audible clicks that were not present in the original audio file.

I have tried importing WAV and MP3 files and changed the settings to CD quality, but am still experiencing this problem. Can anyone advise me how this problem can be eradicated?

Thanks

Mo

Mo, I don't have an answer for you, but I've run into the same issue. I have recorded voiceover narration and then import them in as WAV files. I've noticed a general loss of quality just by importing them, but nothing I couldn't live with.

However, I have noticed that pops and clicks tend to get introduced into the audio, especially as I work with the timing in the editor. Frustrating, especially since importing the audio again appears to scrap any timing work I've already done.

I'll be interested to see if anyone has a solution.

    Hi Rick,

Thanks for the welcome and the quick reply.

This is a sound quality issue rather than slide transition and is not the mose click, but rather a low level interfernce type clicking noise.

I have a little more info now. When I double click the audio from the Timeline and open the Edit Audio window, I can hear a perfectly clear audio. This suggest it is nothing to do with the import process. It is only when I run a preview or run the actual cbt that the sound deteriorates.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again

    Welcome to our community, Mo

Do the audible clicks sound somewhat like mouse clicks? I ask because it's common for Captivate to make a clicking sound as it moves from slide to slide. For example, if you create a new blank project with perhaps three or four slides and simply preview it, do you hear the same clicks? If so, there is a way to banish that. Take a look at the following link: Click here.

    Cheers... Rick
