Question

Import Audio to Background just once?

Is there a way for the Import Audio to Background option to only play ONCE so I can have more than one Audio in a CPVC file?

I think I might have just found a way. I selected Audio/Record/ then I selected Project Narration and Imported the Wave file I wanted on the CPVC.

I tested it and it doesn't seem to be doing what I want it to do. I want different audio to play in different sections of the CPVC file.

I was hoping after I SPLIT the video I could import the Project Narration for that Split section of the video.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I don't get this question really well. You are pointing at a cpvc-project? You want two audio files playing at the same time or two different audio files in different parts of the video? For a video I would always use Audition (part of Creative Cloud) to create the audio file. You can mix more than one track in that case. Audacity (free) will probably allow that as well.

If you were talking about the second scenario: different audio clips in different parts and not using Audition. Why not split the video in clips in the cpvc-editor, insert each clip as a cpvc-slide in a cptx project and add a different audio clip to each slide?

Hi Lilibiri,

I have all my wav files separated for import. I want to play each wav file in the cpvc separately on each split section of the cpvc file. I am  hoping I can do it within the cpvc itself as a way of saving time for the final project. However, I realize this might not be realistic and I might have to import the audio files into the cptx file after I do a Insert/CPVC Slide.

I will let you know.

Moderator: This great explanation is off topic, because it applies only to a CPTX-project with audio to insert on several slides.

The thread is however about a Video Demo project, a CPVC-file which has only one timeline, not different slides.

The issue is that, contrary to a cptx-file where you need and drop an audio clip on each slide, in this case it is not possible to have several audio clips to be inserted in a cpvc timeline.

It looks like you don't have the audio added to the slide yet, so import it to the library or drag and drop it to the slide.

Then, double-click the audio waveform on the timeline, this will open the editing window:

In this case, I'll insert the same audio file part way through this audio file. Click the 'Library' button at the bottom, and you'll be able to insert (in your case the same file) into the slide audio.

Select the name of your audio file, and click OK. (You can preview the file, or use import to locate a different file on your hard drive.)

And the audio is inserted:

Now click 'Save'. Cp will rename the clip in the Library to show it has been edited. (You can re-import the original file without concern it will write over or replace your edited file.)

You should be able to import, add some silence and then insert the file from the library three times and test it. You may need to insert silence or copy and paste (using icons under edit) it to adjust the timing:
