Importing a narrated 2010 ppt to captivate 5.5 a NO GO

win 7 with Captivate 5.5 trying to import a narrated MS Powerpoint slide show. Captivate goes through the motions, says it's processing all 21 slides but only shows me 1/1 to import when it's done. Same for ppt, pps, pptx, and ppsx. Cp also refuses to process a ppt xml form. It imported a pictures only version but that's not what I was looking for.

Help.

It looks as if, historically, importing the sound files with the slides has been a sticking point. I was hoping this wasn't the case with the newest version. So do I just import the slides and re-attach the audio in captivate?

I need the same feature: record narration in MS Powerpoint and import slides/narration into Captivate 6. I do not see this happening currently when I import. For some reason it simply does not add the audio to each slide like I would expect.

I did find a work around that is quite hacky...

1. find the Powerpoint presentation file on your computer.

2. Rename the file with a .zip extension.

3. Un-Archive the zip to see the guts of the powerpoint slideshow.

4. Browse to ./ppt/media/

5. You will see every picture and audio file in your presentation here!

6. Click and drag each .wav file onto the correct slides in Captivate.

7. You now have a narration recorded in Powerpoint within your Captivate 6 presentation.

It works, but what a pain. Obviously it is better to record within Captivate but I need to know if there is a way to import recorded narration into Captivate!

I'm using a Mac, PP 2010, Captivate 6. Any help would be great.
