Question

Impropely clicking to advance in powerpoint imported slides. Help!?

I imported Power Point slides to my Captivate 7. Each slide has a Continue button with pause on it. Everything is fine. With the exception that when the user click anywhere on the slide, it advances like it would if they have clicked the button.

I tried the following with no success:

- when i first imported the slides, captivate created a huge clickable area on each, which would allow the user to click anywhere to advance. I removed all those and added my own Continue button.. with pause on it.

- on the ppt slides with animated objects, i removed all clicks and replaced with After previous (auto). In Captivate added a buttom with action Continue and pause. So this works perfectly in making the animation appears only when user clicks the button.

- on the transition tab, I had mouse-click selected. I diselected this option in PowerPoint. But still with same impropely results on the Captivate preview and published course.

- it only happens with powerpoint imported slides. the ones that i created directly in captivate i dont have the clicking issue.

any help please.

Can you post a screenshot of the Timeline of such a slide with the custom Continue button?

Hi there,

I tested adding an auto advance time of 1 sec to the Power Point and it didn't make any difference when I import into Captivate.

Still getting the same unwanted behavior. I noticed though that the click on the slide only works when the timer pauses. If the slide is 4 seconds long and button to advance is set to pause on 4 seconds, if I click on the slide in the first 3.9 seconds it doesn't advance. The button on the slide has the setting Pause until user clicks.... but I just can't understand why it is only an issue with PPT imported slides.... captivate slides doesn't do that.

Can you think of any setting in PPT that should I try? I unchecked to disable the "mouse click to advance slide" feature in the PPT. Maybe is a setting while I am importing into Captvate? I tried keep the LINK checkmark on and off with the same results.

as you can see in the screenshot below, i am keeping high fidelity checked. Also, you can see the settings of my button on the second screen.

And what do the properties show if you give the Click Box focus?
