Question

In Captivate 2019 I use the ""Delay next action by" function to delay the change state of an object. In Captivate 13.0 I cannot find the same function in the actions list. Is this function not available in 13.0 if so what is the solution/workaround

    Hi ShreyaGupta,

Thank you for your reply and information.

I tested a show/hide action with a delay of 10secs. It worked. “Great”, so I thought!! I cannot edit the delay as the “settings” dialogue, while visable, is not accessible. I have tried replacing the action, replacing the whole “if/else” condition, even with a new condition the “settings” dialogue remains inaccessible. I have cleaned the Captivate preferences, which frustratingly is nearly a daily function for Captivate to keep up with the edits and restarted Captivate numerous time - the issues remains. This seems to relate to other Captivate issues, please read on.

I believe there are data latency issues with Captivate 13.0. Sometimes the variables will edit, mostly not. On occasions, after editing text and adding additional blocks, the changes do not show on preview. This applies to naming of variables/bookmarks too. I noticed on one of Paul Wilson’s videos, he created a bookmark, gave it a name but the name did not change from the default. This not not then just a Mac issue as Paul uses the windows version of Captivate. Please advise as these issues are very frustrating, time-consuming and cause delay in course production.

I am running Captivate on Tahoe 26.3.1 Mini Mac M2 Pro

    Kind regards

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Currently, the delay option is available within action settings (see attached snapshot) for a few actions such as Show, Hide, Toggle, Apply Animation, and navigation actions like Go to Slide, Next Slide, Previous Slide, and Last Visited Slide.

We have taken your request into consideration to extend the “Delay Next Action By” capability to other actions as well.

    Thanks & regards
