Incompatible SCO Error Message

I've attempted to use the MultiSCO Packager inside of Captivate 9 on the Mac to build a course with modules published with SCORM 1.2.

It's giving me an error message that it is an incompatible SCO file!

How can that be? Is the MultiSCO Packager maybe not current with the latest version of Captivate?

I have a nine module course that I need to post to a client LMS this week.

Help!

Gary

Correct answer RodWard

I'll be asking my client if they can do that, since we've already successfully tested the SCORM 1.2 files.

Thank you.

The Multi-SCORM Packaging tool CAN create both SCORM 1.2 and 2004 packages.  But you need to select which one you are going to create when the dialog opens.

I would say perhaps you left it at the default SCORM 2004 setting and that's why you were getting an incompatibility error message when you tried to load it up with SCORM 1.2 published content.

Gary,

Maybe try using the Preview in SCORM Cloud option for each of the project files and see if they all preview fine. You may find something wrong with one or more of the project files and that might save you some time in troubleshooting which project file is to blame and possible what might be wrong with it. I generally don't use the Multi SCO packager but when I do I haven't had any problems in the Cp9 version.

Best of luck,

Paul

Thanks for replying, Paul.

It appears that the Packager only take SCORM 2004, and not 1.2, which strikes me as very strange, that Captivate would include a tool which does not work with the latest SCORM format.

If I may ask, if you don't use the Multi SCO Packager, then how do you deal with multi-module courses, each with their own quiz?

Best.

Many Learning Management Systems allow you to create a course shell that can contain many published items of content.
