Individual feedback for each option

Hi everybody

I have searched the forums and come across a blog about this, but unfortnately  i'm still not able to achieve the result im looking for.

Ideally i would like to create questions, where there are a number of options say 4 or 5 and when the user clicks on an option they can see the indvidual feedback. And if they click on another option they should be able to see the feedback that is individual to that option and so forth.

I am using captivate 4.... so far i have tried creating a multiple choice question. I have set it to type single response, by doing this i can then click on advanced button. After i have clicked on the advanced button I choose 'show' from the action drop down menu. I also ensure show feedback message is ticked. However i cant see where i add my feedback for that option.

Cany body help with this please ?

Hi there,

You will need to create some Text Captions that are by default hidden. Here are some steps to do this.

1. Insert your Multiple Choice Question, add some possible answers and click OK.

2. Insert a new Text Caption on to your MC Question Slide and enter the text you want displayed

3. Click on the Options tab of the Text Caption dialog

4. Give the Text Caption a name

5. Deselect the Visible option

6. Click OK

Now you would carry out steps 2-6 again until you have all the Text Captions you want to provide individual feedback

Next you should do the following:

1. Click the Edit Question Slide button

2. Select the first of the possible answers in the MC Question Dialog

3. Press the Advanced button

4. Tick the Advanced Answer Options check box

5. Select Show from the Action menu

6. Select one of you Text Captions from the Show Me

7. Click OK.

Next, you would repeat those steps for each of the possible answers.

Now when you preview the project, select an answer and hit the Submit button, your custom feedback message should appear.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi Mark

Sorry for the late reply. Many thanks, this makes a lot of sense. However, i'm not quite there yet. I assume i can only provide individual feedback when choosing single response type ? Also after following your instructions when i preview the page, im still not able to test whether it works, Once i click on an option, whilst i do get the feedback that i created in the text caption for that option after clicking the submit button. Ideally i would like it so that the user can click on the other options to see what the feedback is there and then. After pressing the submit button it does not allow you to cycle through the other options and check the feedback. Can you help with this please ?

Thanks
