Information on Adobe Captivate 8

Hi,


I'm interested in purchasing the Adobe Captivate 8 Product but had a few questions:

  1. Cost - Does the subscription to Adobe Captivate 8 cost $20/month for 1 year?
  2. Active / Inactive users - Do the users have to be active during the course of the year?  What happens to the inactive users?
  3. Data - who owns the content and the data once the contract is over?  What happens to the data of inactive users?
  4. Technical support - who can help with technical issues (e.g. user administration such as ID & password resets) and content development?
  5. Development & Production environment - is there a development and production environment?
  6. Training Report - is there a training report for each user?
  7. Tutorial - is there a tutorial, training manual, or other kind of support for learning the system?
  8. Exit Clause - is there an exit clause for the contract or is there a penalty for cancellation?
  9. Trial - can I get a one month free trail to test the product?

Can someone help me answer these?

    Cost - Does the subscription to Adobe Captivate 8 cost $20/month for 1 year?

    The Price for subscription in US is $19.99 per month and user have to sign up for one year contract.

    Active / Inactive users - Do the users have to be active during the course of the year?  What happens to the inactive users?

    Please explain what do you mean by active and inactive user here.

    Data - who owns the content and the data once the contract is over?  What happens to the data of inactive users?

    Data will remain on the machine where user will install Captivate. Whatever projects user will create in his one year contract they will remain with the user on his machine.

    Technical support - who can help with technical issues (e.g. user administration such as ID & password resets) and content development?

    You may call technical support for any Adobe Id issues or you may also reset your password from Adobe support portal. For any how to issues also user will get support from technical support team. You may call 1800 833 6687 or Chat with an Expert.

    Development & Production environment - is there a development and production environment?

    No, There is no development and production environment. Once you purchase the subscription you can create your projects and publish them.

    Training Report - is there a training report for each user?

    Please explain what kind of training reports? Do you mean the data reporting that is possible in Captivate .

    Tutorial - is there a tutorial, training manual, or other kind of support for learning the system?

    Hi Rajeev,

    Thanks for your response.

    A few quick questions:

    1.  How many users does the $20/month allow me to have?  Is it 5 users?

    2.  What I meant by "inactive" is what if the person starts using Captivate in the first month and then stops for about 4 months?  What happens to them?

    3.  What I meant by "training report" is can I easily generate a report to show managers which staff member has competed their training and who has not?  Can you give me an example of what the report my look like?

    Hi there

    Obviously I'm not Rajeev, but I believe it's for a single user. Although, Adobe may have some package that allows for more simultaneous users.

    Captivate doesn't offer anything that will help you with reports. What most folks do is to utilize other software known as a "Learning Management System" or LMS. This is software totally separate from Captivate that you either install on your own or you use on the Web and you subscribe to it. You then use that software to create a database of users and create curriculums that are made up of Classes and lessons. The basic lesson unit is what you create with Captivate. You then upload that finished Captivate to the LMS. Because it has a database of users, each user has a login and password and a LMS administrator handles assigning the lessons to the users.
