Question

Initial Mouse Cursor Size is slightly enlarged until reselected on every slide.

This seems like a glitch, but I'm hoping there is a fix.

Problem: When I record a software simulation where the mouse movements are places on each slide, the mouse cursor is initially depicted as slightly larger than it should be; it is a little bit bigger and blurrier. It is NOT "double sized", that option is NOT selected, and it is NOT intended to be selected. This is something else.

Some Background: I typically use a custom mouse. However this happens even with the default cursors. In order to use my custom cursor I change one of the cursors to my custom mouse and then apply my custom mouse to all slides. Doing this does not fix the initially enlarged mouse; it basically just swap in an enlarged version of my custom mouse. In order to fix the issue, I literally have to go to each slide and simply click on the mouse cursor in the slide, then click on my custom mouse in the mouse properties; doing this removes the enlarged aspect and displays it as normal. Any mouse that I select from the properties after the slides are recorded works fine. It's just the initial recording that is always inflated, thus I have to select something on each slide to restore it's proper size.

Questions:

-Has anyone seen this issue before?

-Is there a known cause?

-Is there a fix?

Ask me any detailed questions you like for clarification.

Thanks for your insights.

I have just started having this problem myself. With the latest update of 2017 release (10.0.1.285), I've been getting the large mouse that just needs to be reselected on each screen. I can't use the "use this mouse on every slide" option, as it doesn't work. I've also started being prompted about DPI settings when recording - I have to go change the ini file every time I record. Not sure if these things are all interconnected?

Indeed, step back with the patch because editing the ini file was not necessary anymore in the first release of CP2017, only restoring the Display Percentage to 100% (Win). I regret very much that the annoying editing  is back like in CP9,  because that also means that you need full Administrator rights to be able to edit that file.

It is possible that the mouse cursor size is linked, I switched back to an older system with a non-retina screen for software simulations and Video Demo recording.
