Inputing PowerPoint Slides into Captivate

Hi,

First, I want to pass along some background information.

Unfortunately, Adobe Presenter is not working properly.  Two major issues is one that it publishes the text blurry, which is a known issue. I did hear they may get a fix out to me shortly.  The other issue is having folks click on a hyperlink, which is on a shared drive.  That doesn't work.  The ideal solution would be for Presenter to create an executable file.  So, there is no real clean way to run a module for this program.

Now, I'm trying to import my PowerPoint slides in Captivate.  The presentation has animation on some of the slides.  Also, I've gone ahead and recorded my audio for each slide.  The challenge I'm running into is the ability to have the animation be in sync with audio.  Right now, if I publish it, the animation goes by itself, which is out of sync with audio.  I did try to set an animation timer in PowerPoint where the objects will start at a certain time, but I didn't see that update in Captivate.

But, so far, I don't know how to get the animation to sync up with the audio in Captivate.

Anyway, if anyone out there can shed some light and see how I can make this work, great.  Be great if Adobe can get Presenter to work.  But I'm exploring the option of loading up the PowerPoint slides in Captivate.  If I can only figure out how to get the animation to roll with the voice.

The usual answer to this type of question is to forget using PPT and just create everything from scratch in Captivate.  Then you have far more control over synch issues.  Perhaps NOT what you wanted to hear but the unfortunate truth is that PPT import into Captivate only works satisfactorily if your PPT deck is more or less static slides.  And if that's the case you have even MORE reason to just go with creating in Captivate.
