Insert files from other vendors

Hi,

I just started getting to learn Adobe Captivate and its possibilities. Just starte and already two questions:

Does anyone have experience (or know if it is even possible) to insert "projects" from another vendor, to be a part of the Captivate project? I'm thinking of e.g. Powtoon and Piktochart.

Second question: is it possible to creat one (powerpoint) project, work from that, but within this project do a screenrecording? I know you can create a full screenrecording project, but I just want  small part of that (sort of a demo during the module).

Thanks!

Dag Noortje, vermoedelijk ben je nederlandstalig, maar ik ga wel in het Engels antwoorden.

Under the button Media you'll find all type of assets that can be inserted in Captivate: video, audio, Flash animations, HTML5 animations. If those other applications can provide one of those output formats, it is possible. However if you want to have interaction between Captivate and those assets it will be come more complicated. It is possible to exchange values of variables between an OAM (HTML5 animation) and Captivate by using JavaScript. Just an example

The second question is for Powerpoint forum... I never understand why people think that Powerpoint is an eLearning authoring tool, it is a presentation tool with focus on that, not on eLearning.  I even don't recommend to use the import PPT feature of Captivate.

    Dank je wel

Wrt my second question, I think this is a typo. I will not use powerpoint now I have Captivate. I only use it as a tool to create storyboards and share this with colleagues for review purposes.

Why? If they have an iPad, use Captivate Draft for storyboarding and you can share it easily with the colleagues. Captivate has also a Reviewer tool, when they set it up they'll not need to have Captivate installed and can add comments using that tool. The difference in functionality between PPT and CP is so underestimated (probably due to the concurrent tool which uses the PPT paradigm and look).
