Insert marker while recording

I saw a video by Dr. Pooja Jaisingh in which she said there is a keyboard shorcut that will insert a marker while recording in Captivate 7.The marker is to mark slides which you need to redo. Can someone tell me the keyboard shortcut to insert this marker, please?

DJ

PS - I really want to insert a click box with a keyboard shortcut while recording. Apparently, this can not be done. So I thought I'd use this redo marker to mark where I want the click boxes.

    Welcome to the forum,

That shortcut only marks slides for deleting, I don't know if that will be suited for your purpose. Which kind of recording do you want? I'm asking this because the software training simulation will insert automatically click boxes whenever the user is expected to click somewhere.

Thank you Sreekanth and Lilybiri. I am recording videos for training. I use video when I'm teaching so I don't have to operate the instructor's PC. I record all my steps and play them back step-by-step for the class to follow along with me.

My problem is, I have not found an ideal playback. In class, I can't click a small target like a highlight box to advance the video. I need a large target like a big click box. Or better yet, let me press the space bar or the enter key to advance to the next slide. I'm coming from PowerPoint. I like Captivate and I want to use it, but so far I am not able to make it work for me.

Before I give up completely, can anyone suggest settings to:

    1. Pause the video on each mouse click, and...
    2. Advance the playback using the keyboard

    Or...

    1. Insert a large click box while recording so I can click it during playback

    Any help will be appreciated.

I am a teacher, and don't understand why you want an extra click box? Or are you just recording in Demo mode? You can create a shape button that pauses and resumes and either put it on the master slides or time it for the rest of the project, since you don't want to use the playbar, correct?

A click box will pause the slide, but always at the end of its timeline. Will that be sufficient?

That is not taking a lot of time to edit the slides then: add a click box on one slide, resize it to the slide size, check if the action is 'Continue' and copy/paste them in one action to all the other slides. Why bother during capture?

Which capture mode do you use? If it is training simulation, as I told already, click boxes and Text Entry Boxes are inserted automatically. Why not use that? I suppose you teach using a projection system, is it that hard to click on the right spot? I have been doing that since many years, only... prefer doing it really and offer the training simulations to the students so that they can practice.

The default Undo marker keyboard shortcut is Ctrl + Shift + Z. You can check and change if you want in the Edit > Preferences > Recording > Keys - (Global) settings.

Sorry, I did not understand the 2nd part of your post, the wish list.
