insert non-breaking space

Hello!

I would like to use a protected blank / non breaking space  e.g. at: 10 mm. 
Unfortunately the field (see picture) does not work. I work with mac so the shortcut is not possilble

(I have also tried some more key combinations, but nothing works)

    You could possibly fake it by typing a letter (for example a zero) and formatting it to be the same color as the background.

    Sorry but I don't see why you posted that screenshot to illustrate your question?

    BTW you can write in German, which I understand quite well (I am Flemish) but will answer in English. German's grammar is bit rusty.

    I am a Windows user. Are you talking about a responsive or a non responsive project? A quick solution would be to convert that particular text to an image or a SVG... I suppose you are using the most recent version for Mac which is 11.8.0?

    Hallo! Vielen Dank erst einmal!

    Es geht um feste Leerzeichen zwischen Zahl und Einheit: 10 mm. Zwischen der 10 und dem mm darf kein Zeilenumbruch sein.
    Unter Symbol einfügen gibt es die Option: geschützes Leerzeichen (strg + umschalt + Leer)
    Das funktioniert aber nicht bei mir (weder Klick noch Tastenkobination)

    Es ist ein Projekt mit Breakpoints.
    Ich nutze MAC 10.13  und Captivate 2019

    OK, got it. Is 'Strg' the Cmnd key in German? That is my problem, don't know the German translations in Captivate (nor the French which also causes me issues). In Windows it is Ctrl-Shift-Space hence my question about the Cmnd key which is  normally the equivalent key for CTRL. This is another localisation bug... 

    BTW CP2019 is the common label for many release, three main (11.0,  11.5 and 11.8) an multiple patches. You find the full version number under Help, About Captivate (hope it is there on Mac). 

    I am sorry not to be of real help, and Mac users are pretty rare here.
