Inserted MP4 video file will not play in HTML published by Captivate 9

I have inserted a 13 minute MP4 file using "Event Video" on blank slide within my Captivate program that consist of 8 slides before video. There does not seem to be any issue publishing the file to HTML/SWF, in fact I do not get the message that need to convert the file using AME.    When I try to play the finished product directly from the file or even in our LMS program the finished video will go through all the normal Captivate slides then stop at the embedded video file.

FYI:  If I publish the Captivate file with embedded video in mp4 format then everything will play correctly but unfortunately this file format will not work for the LMS system.

Help please,

Melissa

Have you checked whether or not MP4 file mimetype is enabled on your LMS server?

Have you tried uploading the non-working SCORM package to SCORM Cloud to check whether the issue is actually with your LMS?

Hi Melissa, how big is the video file? It may be taking a while to load?

If possible, it could be worthwhile exploring uploading the video to another video host, like Youtube or Vimeo, then embedding the video via the "web" widget.

I used Vimeo once, and paid a small annual fee to "hide" the video from public view, but still allow it to be embedded in the captivate file.

A side note, previewing in Captivate won't display the web content, it will need to be previewed in browser (HTML5) or SCORM Cloud. Also, you'll need a button to stop the slide from progressing. Good luck!

Thank-you this will be a good secondary option.
