Inserting button on slide eliminates slide duration

I'm using Captivate 5.0.2 and have encountered something "strange."

I create a slide with a duration of 5 seconds with a "continue to next slide" preference.

I then put a button on that slide, have it start at the beginning of the slide, and set the properties of that button to jump to slide 3.

I then publish, and when I look at the presentation, it holds until I click on the button, and then it jumps to slide 3.

I'd expect that if I sat there on the screen for 5 seconds, it would go to the next slide.

Maybe I'm usng the button for the wrong purpose, but I couldn't find any other object that seemed to accomplish what I was looking to do.

I figured this out.   in the preferences section of the button there is a "pause after" option, which you need to turn off.

The purpose of a button (or a click box) is mostly to offer control to the user, instead of just playing the timeline. In your case you used it to have an alternative for the normal play, to jump eventually earlier to the next slide. In many cases pausing will be enabled, so that the user can choose when navigating, can stay on a slide as long as he wants (such as for reading text on that slide)? Because that is the most used case the default buttons/click boxes have a pausing point.
