Question

Interactions not publishing/working

I am new to captivate. I have created a course from ppt and have added interactions and audio. When I preview in HTML 5, everything is fine. When I publish to my computer, then try to view the training, the interactions don't appear. I get a white screen with navigation buttons and the audio. The learning interactions are tabs, accordian, process circle and pyramid stack. Is their a setting I am missing? Or is simply that I have not uploaded into an LMS yet? I would like to be able to have one or two other people view the training on their computer prior to uploading to our LMS, if possible.

Thanks.

There is, you can install a WAMP server (if you're on windows), Mac users can activate Apache, as it is already installed.

Find the read me files and launch the webserver, determine your 'home' url, or use the IP address of your computer.

The url would look like this:

http://###.###.###.### where the specific value can be found in the network settings for your computer.

You then tell Captivate to publish to the www directory in either tool, you can then access the Cp files via the webserver by launching a browser and using the URL above.

This allows you to preview, locally as you insist, but the published Captivate files will be accessed via a webserver allowing the JavaScript to be executed, learning interactions, video, and widgets to activate.

If it is a SCORM course, you can upload it to SCORM Cloud, and invite those testers to check the course. Indeed, some interactions will not be functional when playing locally, the course should be uploaded either to a webserver or a LMS.

Thanks. So there is no way to make the "publish locally" function work? Even just to verify the course can be viewed/navigated as intended, including interactions?
