ipad closed captioning

When running a Captivate 8 course on an iPad we noticed the closed captioning is not playing. The skin editor settings (background) are there but the text is not.

The course runs fine on a PC with the closed captioning working perfectly. Not sure what is going on with the iPad that is making it not display the closed captioning. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this?
