Is there a limit to Rest of Project buttons that can be placed on a slide?

I am using Captivate 2017 and on my first slide I have four custom shapes that are buttons: Next, Previous, Show TOC, Hide TOC. They are designated to show for Rest of Project.  I noticed that when I preview it in SWF, my first slide doesn't appear - just a white screen -  and it skips to the second slide. And of course, the buttons don't appear. However, when I preview it in HTML5, everything is fine. I tried publishing it in SWF format and I get the same white screen for the first slide.

I have also notice that if I have only three buttons as Rest of Project then my project will preview and publishes fine in SWF.

I have opened some of my old projects that I have created in Captivate versions 7, 8, 9 in Captivate 2017 that also have four Rest of Project buttons on their splash slide and the same thing is happening. When previewing and publishing in SWF, It won't show the first slide and skips to the second slide. However, everything is fine and works as it should when previewed in HTML5.

Anyone else have this problem?

    Hmmm, there was a similar question yesterday about shape buttons on the master slide, but for HTML5 output. I also have issues when upgrading projects with shape buttons. At this moment I don't have time to test but could propose something to help you out temporarily:

    1. Combine the Show/Hide TOC in a toggle button? Have a looka t: 1 action = 5 Toggle Buttons - Captivate blog
    2. Put one or two shape buttons on the main master slide?

    Hello - Has it been confirmed that this is an issue in Captivate 2017? If so, is there a fix?

    I am having the same problem in that I want to add 5 shape buttons to a slide and display them for Rest of Project.  The preview works fine with the first two but as soon as I add the third button, I just get the white screen and can't progress to any other slide.

    I don't think I can add them to the Master slide b/c I want them to be initially hidden and then show when the learner gets to certain slides throughout the course.

    I just double-checked in CP2017. This is a screenshot of the  presentation I gave last week: it has 5 shape buttons, all timed for the rest of the project and they work fine.
