Is there a way to change the "constrain proportions" default?

Does anyone know a preference/setting/hack that will change the text captions "Constrain Proportions" default to off? Thanks.

I'm guessing not. I think I shall file a bug/feature request. I was hoping one of a secret settings file somewhere that I could use to tweak that behavior.

The constrain proportions feature is very nice for images, but not so nice, IMHO, for text captions. I like some extra white space around my captions, and Cp5 loves removing it any time I change caption type. In fact, many sorts of edits can prompt it.

I realize I could create a custom caption type and specify the padding (add that to the list), but it's something new that wasn't an issue in Cp4. Not that I'm complaining, much. I'm forcing myself to do all new projects in Cp5, so I'll get intimately familiar with it's ins and outs. Cp4 is clunky, but it's clunky I know, rather than clunky I don't (yet) know.

    Helllo James,

I'm with your there, have been asking for it too. Biggest issue is that Size and position are in the same region, so change style for that portion and apply to all is no good because everything will be positioned at the same location
