Question

Is there a way to click "closed captioning" for all slides at once?

Hello,

I am trying to export our slide notes which we used as speaker text so that they can be translated using the "Project Captions and Closed Captions" feature.  If I understand correctly, I have to click the closed captioning box on every slide in order for them to be exported. Is there a way for you to do this for every slide at once?

Or can I export the slide notes without making them closed captions?

Thanks for any help!  We are using Captivate 2017.

No you do not understand correctly how this feature is used.  I think you are confusing the Closed Captions feature (which can be accessed from each slide and synchronised with voiceover audio) with another entirely different feature that has a similar name but is accessed via the File menu > Export > Project Captions and Closed Captions.

That feature creates a single MS Word document that contains all text from captions and closed captions in the project that can then be sent for translation.  There is one column for the original text and another for the translator to insert the translation.  After translation you need to reimport the Word document back into the same CPTX file to effect the final translated result.

Thank you.

I guess my question is : how can I export slide notes?

The only answer I have so far for this question is to make all of the slide notes "closed captions" and then export Project Captions and Closed Captions, but I am hoping this is unnecessary.

By the way, I have tried Print --> Handouts with slide notes selected, but my experience is they will not be printed unless you have the closed captioning clicked for every slide that has slide notes.

Thanks again.
