Is there a way to protect my elearning content from piracy

Hi

I want to create and sell downloadable (for offline viewing) elearning content on my website. Content must work on Android, iOS and Windows, and one of my options is to use Captivate.

However, I need to know if there is a way to protect my content from piracy.

One idea I had was to provide a License Key with each copy of my content, and have users input the License Key the first time they run the content on a device. This is similar to a lot of software packages. Is there a way to do this with Captivate?

If so, which format is most suitable for this? HTML5, PDF, Epub or any other format?

I will appreciate any guidance here.

Thanks

This subject pops up regularly in my other realm of Technical Writing.

The bottom line conclusion is this. If you want to totally prevent anyone from pirating what you have created, the way you do it is simple. Never share it with ANYONE. EVER!

The unfortunate fact is that if folks are going to pirate something, they will. Plain and simple. You can go to lots of effort and expense trying to protect yourself, but in the end, if it's available anywhere, it's possible to be pirated.

Sorry to sound like a Debbie Downer, but my own views are that you are much better off focusing on content and value. Focusing on efforts to prevent piracy is pretty much a zero sum game.

Cheers... Rick

There is a password protection, hope it is still possible because I cannot

double check at this moment. But I believe you"d better look for an
