Question

Is there a work around to get the SCORM file to report no score or n/a for the grade to the LMS?

Hi, we get asked this a lot, so I'd love to know if there's a work around to do it. If our course has quiz questions throughout, and points assigned to them, but "report answers" is unchecked for the quiz. We then have a button at the end, that has "report answers" checked, that upon clicking it sends the complete and acts as the one reported back quiz question to give a "100" that the course has been completed and can close off in the LMS. We want it to give a grade of 'no score' or 'n/a.'

Is there a way to achieve this? I read this postWhy does the LMS report a Success criteria of "Unknown" for a quiz that I fail? that talked about changing the reporting "template" and the scorm.htm to be show no score. We are using Captivate 8. Can anyone help with how to create a new reporting template that won't send back a score value but just a pass/fail with a grade of n/a?

Thanks!

Why don't you just set your SCORM completion and pass/fail to be determined by slide completions rather than quiz score?

Set all of the quiz questions and any other interactive objects in the project to NOT report to the quiz.

Some LMSs seem to baulk at the idea that you don't have any scoring objects in your SCORM, but a lot of them will accept success based on merely completing the course.
