I am attempting to pull in a .ppt to Captviate 2019, and 3 of my slides have a light blue to white gradient background, and it comes into captivate as fading into black.

Can you modify the background image of the PPT (not that I recommend using PPT at all)?

Check whether that fading image is in fact a 32-bit PNG with transparency.  Sometimes that bit depth causes problems.

Ideally your background image in the PPT should not need to be an image but just a shape that fades from light blue to white.  That would be preferrable.  If it has to be an image, rather than using a PNG, use a JPG which is going to be a lot smaller filesize as well.
