Issue with size/speed of published ZIP files (CP9 0200437 patch)

Hi everyone,

I am extremely worried as the files I am publishing (with and without SCORM wrapper) and file size are larger than the size we get when we ask another partner firm to publish our saves for testing.

Maybe their published file size of our project is 33 MB and ours 54 MB. It is the same save and everyone is on the latest patch,

I even reinstalled the whole suite yesterday to test but it is still the same.

The load time on this project over an LMS are atrocious. But they are buttery smooth when using the smaller one zip file we got externally.

So what should I do?

Thanks a lot!

Nik

You may want to use a file comparison tool on the published files.

I'd look at the CPTX files from each user, Mac and Windows, buy changing the CPTx to ZIp, decompressing, and comparing the folders.

Then, I would take the same approach to the published files, and try to find a reason for the discrepancy.

    Results are in!
The folder "DR" is bigger as it has more JSON files than the other one.

    a. There are more files.

    b. The ones that are the same are bigger in size.

    In short, what the ..*?

By the way, what does JSON do? And why is it different in my version and their version stemming from the same cptx?

Are you sure they use exact the same version? JSON were added in a recent version.

I'm curious, is there any chance you have output this project to an exe file on windows, then published to SWF and HTML?

I'm wondering if that would trigger some libraries being included in the project file that wouldn't be available on the Mac.

Have you compared your settings with theirs under Preferences > Project Size and Quality?

Perhaps you're not using the same compression settings.

    Hello Rod,

they are using our save so it should be exactly the same?
