Question

Judging a software simulation after multiple interactons

Hello,

It seems that up through Captivate 8, the only scoring mechanism for Software simulations was scoring at each interaction point.  What we would like to do is once the user has completed all tasks on an application page, judge all the answers and display which ones are incorrect and correct.

For example, fill-out a form and click submit.  Once submit is clicked then show what is correct and incorrect.

Is this possible in 8 or in the recent version 9 release?

As an example, creating an email.  The steps of the simulation would be:

  1. Click New Message
  2. Complete the To address
  3. Complete the subject
  4. Complete the Message
  5. Click Send

When capturing this, each step is a new slide.  What I want to do is when the user clicks Send, to score each of the steps and indicate if it was done correctly or is incorrect.

Previously, the way I would something like this is to build each step manually on one screen capture and use Advanced Actions to score it.  It sounds like that is still the case with even Captivate 9.

Perhaps you could use the Submit All function.

That was an interesting idea, but it looks like it is just for Quiz questions not a Simulation.  I am looking to capture several steps for a software simulation and make whatever the final button is to make it trigger scoring for the simulation.

It can be done, but you'll have to use advanced/shared actions. Is it correct that you don't want a 'Submit all' but a way of displaying feedback after everything is done on one slide? Or is it on multiple slides?
