Keeping Closed Captions On

Hello all,

I had a quick question. I've been browsing the web trying to figure out the best way to accomplish this task. How would I go about ensuring that closed captions are displayed after they have been toggled on a previous slide? On my file now it seems that it turns off after the slide changes, which causes users to have to re-enable on each progression. Any advice would be appreciated.

I found the problem. Who ever built the knowledge check slides built them on blank slides and modified them to function as knowledge check rather than just modifying the default True/False slide.

Thanks for your help!

I've figured it out the issue, I think, testing it now. The problem was that it was shutting off in between segments (after quizzes) because the main play bar disappears on those pages. I think I figured out how to keep it enabled through those sections.

FIne, that confirmed what I told that CP9 didn't have that bug. You can use the Assign command on the first slide after a quiz slide.

Hi,

It's actually the most recent version of Captivate 9. Would that change the process at all?

That is strange, I don't remember that problem with 9. The On Enter command will certainly work but CC shouldn't be turned off automatically when it is turned on.

How did you test? Is this SWF or HTML5 output?

Are you using CP2017? If yes, it is a known bug. There is a hotfix available. However you can also create one advanced ation that you attache to all On Enter events of the slides:

  Assign cpCmndCC with 1

You can do it with a simple action as well, that variable is in the drop down list. Of course, if you have other actions attached to the On Enter events it will take more time than just selecting all slides in the Filmstrip and triggering the action once.
