Knowledge Check Fail to Route to Prior Slide

I am trying to have knowledge checks placed throughout the content where if the user fails the knowledge check, it will re-route them to the prior slide where the content is covered > they get another chance to take the knowledge check > once they pass, they proceed to the next slide. However, they must pass to proceed.

How can I add the part where it reroutes them? I assume it's in the interactions, but I don't know what to add. Thoughts?

(using the new Adobe Captivate)

You want what is called 'remediation',  feature which was available since version 5.5 in the former Captivate. However it was not linked to Knowledge Check slides, but to normal Quiz slides.

I sincerely doubt that this was in the scope of KC slides in the new version.  Quiz is one of the aspects  which preserved largely the ideas of previous version but lost parts like most workflows. AFAIK there is no quizzing system variable linked with KC slides (like in previous versions). See:

That means that you cannot create a conditional interaction.

My first intuition (but I didn't double-check) is that you'll need to use a graded question slide to be able to achieve your goal.

Thank you for the information, as always!

I want to more fully explain what I'd like to do, to see if it's even possible. My training is on ergonomics. I'd like to have knowledge check/quiz questions throughout that provide remediation, as mentioned above. The learner must answer the question correctly to proceed—confirming they learned the content.

Then, at the end of the course, I'd like for there to be 3 self-assessment questions so the employee can indicate if they are having any ergonomic issues at work. Any "yes" answer on the self-assessment questions would result in a course "fail" score of less than 100. These people would be flagged in reporting by their low score so that someone can follow up with them after the fact.

I suppose I could drop the requirement for remediation and simply do knowledge checks + the final quiz questions. Now that I've shared the whole picture, thoughts or advice?

I appreciate all that you share, Lilybiri!

I see, that is the problem combining real assessment slides with KC slides. I have too little experience (but tons of frustration) with version 12 to suggest a workable solution. That version is so limited. Just lost the timeline ruler when trying to see a good way to replace the former 'micro-navigation' by bookmarks (which cannot be timed exactly neither).
