knowledge check on success action

I am trying out the knowledge check slides. I have the remediation for incorrect actions working perfectly. But the "on success" action is not happening when I show the "Correct" caption. When I deselect the "Correct" caption, the action (go to next slide) works right. So my question is, how can I show the "correct" caption for a couple of seconds, AND then immediately move to the next slide?

I was hoping for a little more updated information, as Knowledge Check slides are new in Captivate version 9. But Rod's answer gave me some help to keep experimenting.

Here's what I ended up doing:

On the Quiz properties for the slide, I set the "on success" action to go to next slide. On the correct answer, I checked Advanced Answer Option. The action for that is to show an image I'm using for the correct feedback. This image is not visible in the output, and the timing is set after the pause for the question submit button and lasts for 3 seconds so that it will show for a meaningful amount of time.

The incorrect answers do not have the advanced answer option box checked. I found the incorrect just wouldn't work the same way. So instead, I made more changes to the Quiz slide properties.

The number of attempts is 2, with the Retry message checked and 1 failure message. On the last attempt, it executes an advanced action that includes Continue, Show image (the wrong feedback - this image has the same timing as the correct feedback image), Hide correct feedback image, jump to slide (for remediation) hide the wrong image (for future visits to the slide).

With these settings, the program advances automatically to the next slide, after showing the correct feedback as I wanted when the user answers the question correctly. If the user answers the question wrong twice, he does have to click to initiate the remediation return, but this is a compromise I can live with.

Rod described a workaround, which you can find described more in detail in this old blog post:

Captivate's quiz question feedback captions don't work the same way as feedback captions for other interactive objects.

For a click box or button the Success or Failure captions only show for a given time and then disappear.  For quiz slides the captions show until the user takes another action to dismiss them. That's just the way it's designed to work.

You can fudge similar behavior for quiz questions by turning OFF the success and failure captions and adding your own captions (with Visible in Output set to OFF) to the slides and have the Success or Failure event for the slide trigger them to Show or remain hidden.  You can time how long they appear by having them timed to Rest of Slide and adjust the length of the slide AFTER the pause point to be what you want.  This way, when the user answers the quiz question and clicks Submit, their answer is immediately evaluated and the On Success or On Last Attempt actions are immediately executed to Show the relevant caption.  This also releases the slide timeline to continue playing until the end, where it will then jump to the next slide.
