L&D Micro-Learning Help

To whom it may concern. I live near the Lehi, Utah Adobe building and am wondering if there are any workshops, seminars, etc. that I can take that will allow me to enhance my skills. I am a Learning Experience Designer (aka Instructional Designer) and all that I know is self-taught by watching videos and trial & error. I would like to learn how to create fun, lucid, and flowing imagery for the micro-learning LMS courses I have planned for this year. I am looking to create a robust "commercial-style" 3-5 minute course library. In the past I have used Captivate to create the courses, and Illustrator & Photoshop to create images, but I don't know if these programs will help me reach the look and feel that I am going for. I am willing to travel to college campuses, but I just need to know from you what courses or seminars I should take to get the effect I'm looking for, how much it is, how long the courses are, and where it is.
