Launch the next movie from this movie

Hi all,
I am producing a series of tutorials. At the end of each I want to give users the choice to watch the next related tutorial or quit. If the user chooses another tutorial I would like it to appear in the same browswer window (if possible).
All the files will be published in the same folder on a server.

I am using a skin, so each tutorial has 3 files:
TutA.html
TutA_skin.swf
TutA.swf

I just want to launch TutA from a click box.

Which options do I choose?

Thanks,
Jeanne

Nope. Skin or no skin, doesn't work.

And, if I do use a skin, how do I "acomodate that into the mix" if I am just selecting "Open other project" and selecting a .cp file ?

    Hi again

I'm not sure where the process is failing here. Normally it's pretty simple and straightforward. You create the projects, then configure one to open the other. Then copy all the associated files from each project (there are typically four) to the same folder so they can all find one another. (The fourth file is named "standard.js" and it's the same file for all projects - so copying that one will simply replace the one that was there before and no harm is done).

How are you testing? From your local PC? Or after uploading all to a server? If from your own PC, you could be encountering an issue with Flash Security settings. See if this link helps with that.

    Hi Jeanne

You should probably choose "Open other project". When you choose this option, you browse to the .CP file of the next project. Some folks freak out by seeing this. Don't let it fool you. Just choose the .CP file. When you publish, Captivate will sort the details.

    Alas no luck.

I even tried a very simple case and still couldn't get it to work.

I see that when I export it warns me that the swf file and the html file need to be exported to the same folder. But it says nothing about the skin file, and that is what the html file is invoking to play the movie. Could it be that this was never updated to accomodate skins?

I'll do a test without a skin and see next...

    Hi again

Not sure if I'm following you with your statement of: Could it be that this was never updated to accommodate skins?.

If you have a skin in the picture, indeed you will need to include the _skin.swf in the mix, because as you noted yourself, the HTM page is looking to launch the _skin file.
