Question

Learner Notes Interaction in 12?

Hi there. I never used the Learner Notes Interaction Widget in Classic Captivate, but I'm working on a project now that I think could greatly benefit from having one...Lots of modules within one, and I think it would help learners a bunch to be able to take a few notes on each one, so they have somethign to review/refresh their memories before taking the quiz.

Has anyone figured out a way to do this in the all-new yet?

Thank you!

Mary

Bad news. The Notes Learning interaction which existed in Classic Captivate has been taken out in version 11.8 which is a pity. I still remember when it was introduced in 2009. But all Learning interactions have been taken out, one reason more why I still use version 11.5.5.

New Captivate has no Notes 'widget', which is again the term used. At this moment there is only a very limited set of widgets to add to slides. The main hurdle is probably that you can only create a responsive project. Such a project cannot have an item which is available throughout the project due to the impossibiity to stack.

Thanks @Lilybiri. I was afraid that was the case.

I tried creating a slide with a text entry box that I would open using a button interaction, but then I couldn't get the slide to go to the right slide after closing the notes slide. Oh well. Can't miss what I never used, I suppose. Maybe it's something they can add in a future version.

There are so many features missing in the New version, it is frustrating when you have enjoyed all the possibilities of Captivate during two decades. The most recent Captivate Classic, the only on which can be used together with the new version is still very buggy and lost features as well.
