library in Captivate

Sorry, I didn't know about the difference between a gallery and library. Talking about the gallery. I'm trying to figure out what could I do with the images available in Captivate. There are 47,500 combinations of illustrated and photographic characters, expressions and poses included in Articulate (accordingly to 2elearning.com). What combinations are available in Captivate? Thank you.

I suppose you are talking about the Gallery. The Library has all the assets you use in one project, but those assets are originating either from the Gallery (like characters, widgets, textures, sound clips...) or imported by yourself.

If that will be sufficient, I don't know.. depends on what you expect to find.

Sounds like you may be confused about the Captivate library. From what you posted, you seem to think the Library is a place pre-populated with all sorts of assets. Much like a public library you would visit. But that's not the case. However, Captivate *DOES* offer a gallery of some small items. And in version 6, there are the new Actor images that are included.

Perhaps it will help to think in different terms.

When you create a new Captivate project, the library will be empty. Think of it as if you purchased a new home. You have the container, now it's time to move in all your "stuff". So the library is just a container. More like a window that lets you view the items you add to your project. Items such as Images, Audio Files, PowerPoint presentations, Videos.

As you use these items, they are added to the library. Sure, Captivate may record the screen and certainly the images and videos and audio that is recorded are added to the library. But you may also add these items from elsewhere.
