Linking to slide skipping on exit action

I have a menu slide with links to various slides (eg. Link To: > Slide > 1 Introduction)  within the project.

The menu slide has an advanced action that is triggered "On Exit".

If the user selects a menu link they are taken to the correct slide but the On Exit action for the menu slide is not triggered.

Shouldn't exiting the slide always trigger the On Exit action?

Do I have to make the link trigger a shared action and go to the relevant slide from there instead?

Captivate doesn't work this way by default.  The On Exit Action only gets triggered from the final frame of the slide.  By jumping to another slide BEFORE that frame is reached, you void any chance to execute that action.

Thanks you saved me hours of trying to "fix" it. So "On Exit" could be more accurately named "On reaching last frame in slide (just before going to another slide)"?

    Yep.  That's about it.

On the other hand....if you are publishing to HTML5 there is a widget called CpExtra that will soon allow you to detect and execute actions whenever you jump from a slide no matter what frame you jump from.  This is an extra feature being currently developed.
