Question

location of imported swf files

I posted this question at the end of a previous post but thought I would add as new in case it got missed.

I am launching my captivate SWFs from a Flash framwework. The main file is launched from one location and pulls the captivate SWFs from another. With Captivate 2 the SWF files from the project library do not run unless I copy them to the same folder that contains the initial launch file. This would end up with every SWF from every project having to be saved to the same location which is not a viable option.

Has anybody had experience with this issue?

We also use a custom, Flash-based player. The only solution I am aware of is to publish your movies differently: without borders.

If you need playback control bars, then you can get around the extra SWF issue by disabling "Borders" in the publish preferences. When not using borders, the main movie and the control bar are published as one SWF. When you DO use borders, the control bar gets kicked out as a separate movie -- as you see.

If you're using borders to keep the control bar from laying on top of your content, an alternate way of achieving the same effect would be to resize your movie just prior to publishing it. When doing the resize, add about 35 pixels to the bottom of the movie and have it filled with white - or a color of your choice. That'll provide a "home" for your control bar to live without it obscuring any of the content.
