Looking for recommendations

I agree with Rod.  At least Intel i5 processor and preferably minimum of 16GB of RAM. I also prefer to have a dedicated graphics card but that is because I use a lot of CC applications where that extra power is useful.

If a big SSD is too expensive, be sure to have at least a smaller start SSD where you install software, in combination with a cheaper (bigger) HDD to store assets.  My main system is set up that way.

Most modern laptops are more than capable of running Captivate, but if you want the best performance you will usually need to get something that has the kind of specifications a graphic designer or online gamer would normally use.  The basic rule is to get the most powerful system you can afford (within reason).

For what it's worth here are the specifications of my current laptop which I find to be quite adequate for running Captivate 2019:

HP ZBook Power G7

x64-based PC

Intel i7 2.6 GHz CPU

16 GB RAM

1 Terabyte SSD hard drive

In my experience, the part that actually makes the biggest difference in performance is the SSD hard drive.  In fact, if your current system has a CPU that is somewhere over 2 GHz and you have more than 8 Gig of Ram, but you have an older style spinning disk hard drive, then changing out the hard drive for a fast SSD drive will make the world of difference to how Captivate works.
