Making a rollover caption background plain white

Hi all,

I'm trying to make a customer rollverover caption background plain white so that it covers an image and reveals text when the image is rolled over. I've created a plain white BMP file but it is just appears transparent.

I was thinking this could be achieved using a 'Hide' action but this doesn't seem to be an option.

Thanks

Mike

Go into the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7 x64\Gallery\Captions\More\ folder. Open the pendulum1.bmp file and make the inside white and leave the gray border. save as white1.bmp. Copy the pendulum1.fcm and rename it white1.fcm.

In Captivate with a text caption selected, click on the folder icon in the general accordian and navigate to the white1.bmp. Voila, you'll have a text caption that is solid white with no border.

Do you mean rollover caption or rollover image?  You say caption but speak of a BMP file, which is an image.  You may have the image set for white to be a transparent colour in Captivate, which would then account for why it was invisible.  The other possibility is that you have the Visible in Output deselected for this object. Please check the setting.

Hi Rod,

Thanks for getting back to me. It’s definitely the Rollover caption. In the properties bar, under ‘general’, it gives me the opportunity to change the caption style. Default styles include yellow, red, green, adobe blue, halo, etc. If I click the folder icon, it shows that these are all bitmap files, and will only allow me to select bitmap files in the file type dropdown. I created a white bitmap but this doesn’t work.

With regards to white transparency – this could be the case but as no other white object has done the same, I don’t think so. Could you let me know how to double check?

Thanks again for your help.

Very best

Mike
