Question

Making chapter points in Captivate...

I have an mp4 video in Captivate. My "Menu" screen says "PLAY" which jumps to that slide and plays the entire video. But I need to insert on the menu page a "Part 1" and "Part 2" where the user can jump to certain chapter points in this video. I'm not seeing a simple way to do this. I'm also not seeing any action scripts that easily do this.

My thought process was at each "Part", the video pauses and a "Continue" button comes up. If the user is watching the entire video, they can select Continue. If the user had selected "Part 1" from the get-go, maybe an action script could be pointed to this "Continue" button at that certain spot? Not sure how to make a button point to another button.

Bottom line...I'd like to mimic "chapter points" like in a menu where I can point to certain parts of the video (the video is just on one slide, and was imported as multi-slide sync.)

Any help appreciated!! Thanks guys!

Easiest way is to cut the video in as many clips as you want to have chapters, and put each clip on a slide. That makes jumping alot asier. Continue button will also be possible, it will just go to the next slide.

BTW: actionscript cannot be used directly in Captivate. You can use JavaScript or create Advanced actions, thwat will be converted onruntime either to AS or to JS depending on the wanted output (SWF or HTML).

Could the "add chapter points to certain points in one single video" feature be requested for the next Captivate version?
