Question

Making images move in adobe captivate 8

I have a complicated process diagram showing a 5 step process on one of my adobe 8 captivate slides.   As the audio plays I'd like the different steps of the process to be highlighted in some way to draw the users attention.    I know how to do this in powerpoint but can't find something similar in Captivate 8.    Id either like the item to do a full rotation, or fly in, zoom in and out, or maybe wiggle a bit.     I created the diagram using separate images for each step so that I could move them independently.

Also, is there a way to switch away from a responsive project once I've started?   I'm wondering if part of my problem is that I chose this option in the beginning.   I see online that there are "effects" I could use for my images but it sounds like maybe I'm not seeing those because I chose responsive project?

Thank you,
Sue

It is my understanding that you would need to start again as HTML 5 (responsive) does not use the flash animation effects. There is a way to create them in adobe animate for HTML5 but that is complicated and requires some experience with animate and action scripting I believe.

Your simplest solution may be to use the non responsive project if you want to use the effects on the image.

Sue, you can add effects to an object in Responsive projects as well, at least in CP9 (don't have 8 on this system). The Effect timeline will appear under the object (there is an expand/collapse button). You can drag the effect on its timeline to the time where you want it to appear in synch with the audio.

In this screenshot (sorry, forgot to insert audio), I applied the same effect to two shapes. The effect is from the category Emphasis, it will play on the first shape at 0,5secs, duration 2 secs. The effect on the second shape plays at 3,8secs. Both start time and duration can be set either in the Timing properties, or by dragging, or with shortcut keys.

In CP8 the Effect timeline is still in a separate window, but the timing is possible there as well, just different.

There is no easy way to switch from a responsive to a normal project. You can try by opening a new blank project with the same resolution as the primary breakpoint, then copy/paste slides to that normal project.
