"Many-to-One" Drag & Drop Will Not Advance

Hello Everyone,

I am having problems with a "many-to-one" drag & drop where targets are set to accept multiple drag objects. Each drag object does eventually land on a target. I can’t get Captivate to recognize that the activity has been completed successfully. I originally selected “Auto Submit Correct Answers” but when testing it never moved past the slide. Unchecking that box and having the user click “Submit” doesn’t work either, and in fact, displays the red "failure text" as though it's wrong.

Each target is also set to On Success > Continue and On Failure > Return to Quiz. I have another drag and drop where each target is only set to accept one source, and it works fine. This one is set up identically, and the only difference is that the targets are set to accept multiple drag objects.

Please advise if you have a solution. Hopefully it’s just one simple thing I forgot!

Thank you,

Jonathan

I am confused now. There are no events On Success or On Failure for each target, only for the complete D&D: when all drag sources are correctly dropped on the target dropdowns the Success action will fire. Your failure action has no sense, the command 'Return to Quiz' is meant for remediation, to be used on a Content slide where a Next button will have a double functionality: to go to the next slide when not coming on the slide from a question slide, or to return to the question slides if that was the last visited slide.

It is perfectly possible to set up a many-to-one D&D, have created many of them. Something is wrong with your setup. Double-check all the links that are visible when the interaction is visible, or check the Correct Answers dialog box.
