Media Encoder?

Why does Captivate 2017 come with an out of date version of Media Encoder? (2 versions old, as far as I can tell). If I have cc 2017 do I need Media Encoder 2015 too?

    Hi Jessica,

    If you are using only HTML5 output, you can perfectly use AME 2017 (which I'm doing as well). One of the possible reason san older version is packed with CP could be that it supports codecs needed for SWF output which are not available in a more recent version. I have no idea if that is the case (used to be when FLV output was needed for SWF, not sure at this moment for CP2017). Only the team could offer you a correct answer, I'm just guessing.
